Try to keep a lean inventory of useful items, rather than just carrying around everything you've ever found at all times in traditional RPG style. Put rare items in Kangaskhan Storage in Treasure Town, and keep most of your Poke in Duskull's Bank. The best way to deal with this is to minimize the damage whenever possible. Whatever way in which it happens, the end is the same sometimes, you're going to lose. You might run into an ambush while tracking an outlaw you may get poisoned with no way to cure it you may simply run into an enemy Pokemon that knows skills that your main character is vulnerable to.

Unless you do a lot of extra grinding, it's very easy to hit an unfortunate series of events that end in your defeat. Any items your characters were holding at the time of your defeat, such as equipment, will need to be equipped once again.ĭefeat is fairly inevitable in Explorers of Sky, sadly. Your characters will sleep off their wounds, and you'll regain control of them the next morning at Guild headquarters. The money and items are permanently gone.
Unfortunately, while you're unconscious, you'll lose half the Poke you have on you, and every item in your bag has a 50% chance of disappearing. You can usually find caches of Poke, valuable Berries, weapons like Geo Pebbles or Sticks, and more lying around a mystery dungeon, and no items in Explorers of Sky will become obsolete as you level up. It's usually worth revisiting older dungeons later in the game, if only to explore each floor for cash and items. Instead, most of your items and money will usually be found within mystery dungeons. You should make a habit of checking at the Kecleons' store every day before you head off to have adventures, but don't count on them having anything that you'll need. The Kecleon Shop & Wares in Treasure Town has a randomized inventory that changes from day to day one day it may offer adventuring staples like health items and ammunition, and the next, it may have nothing but Orbs and Plain Seeds. One of the odd things about Explorers of Sky is that it's surprisingly difficult to accumulate money and items.
Each one holds a randomly-generated item. Alternatively, a hidden staircase may lead to a Secret Chamber, where you'll find five treasure chests. Inside a secret room, you can pay to be escorted out of the dungeon to have your items cleaned to take a chance at random grab bags (which usually contain Oran Berries) or take a dip in the spa, refilling your HP, PP, and Belly to their maximum. To reveal them, eat Eyedrop Seeds, equip the Goggle Specs, or use a Stairs Orb. Unless you routinely walk across every single square in a mystery dungeon, you can easily walk straight by these. Some dungeons may conceal secret areas, which are hidden behind invisible staircases.
